Another shot of the sashes. The girls did a wonderful job of sharing dresses and helping everyone find something she liked. No one purchased a dress for this event from our ward. We heard that a couple of the girls in one of the other wards just bought their homecoming dress early. Homecoming Dresses, Ideas, Homecoming, Inspiration, Dresses, Dress

The sashes were gorgeous! I contacted a company in Albuquerque, NM called The Ribbon Place. They now have all of the silk screens set up and the ribbon colors for the values. The cost was approx $15.50 per girl, but so, soooo worth every penny! https://www.theribbonplace.com/about/contact.php Sequin Skirt, Silk Screen, Ribbon Colors, Silk

I had prepared 3 questions so the leaders could choose the question most suited to each of their YW. This was a good idea, in theory! I reality, I ended up having each girl write her name phonetically on an index card, the value she was representing and which question she wanted me to ask her. Of course, I changed up the wording slightly for each girl, so the audience wouldn’t get board, but they were less nervous b/c they knew what to expect. We placed clear rope lights on each side of the red carpet. The YM escorted the girls all the way to their seats, then dashed out the door, down the hallway and backstage to be ready for the next time they were needed. Lights, Fun Slide, Rope Lights, Ready

Each girl was escorted down the stairs by one of our YM volunteers. Before the Pageant, I showed them how to offer their arm and had them practice walking *slowly* down the stairs. They did a phenomenal job and were perfect gentlemen! And, thanks to their efforts, 100% of the YW made it safely off the stage and to their seats :) Volunteers, Lds, Job

We purchased a photo backdrop and let the YW and their friends and family take pictures. I didn’t crop this picture so that you can see it’s just a pre-made backdrop taped to the wall! We could have added flowers or tissue paper around the edges, but lack of time dictated just the backdrop. Friends, Backdrops, Photo Backdrop, Tissue Paper, Tissue

We were able to get a great deal on flowers that were a little “past their prime” $15 for an entire shopping cart full! We set vases of flowers on the refreshment table and a small vase on each of the smaller tables around the perimeter (several of the YW brought projects to display). We decided to go with a chocolate fountain and yummy items to dip. For drinks, the YW chose infused water. I didn’t get pictures of the water, but we used large glass dispensers filled with lemon and raspberries in one and filled with lemon and basil in the other. The overall effect was beautiful!
