Lang Dulay house this is one of the places you can visit while at Lake Sebu to enjoy the beautiful tapestry. She was one of the great dreamweavers for their tribe. She earned an award as National Living Treasures in recognition of her artistry sadly she passed away way back 2015. She knew hundreds of designs including the bulinglangit (clouds) the bankiring (hair bangs) and the kabangi (butterfly) each one special for the stories it tells. Using red and black dyes she spins her stories with grace. Her textiles reflect the wisdom and the visions of her people. Through her weaving Lang Dulay kept her peoples tradition alive. There are a few of them left the traditional weavers of the tnalak or Tboli cloth. It is not hard to see why: weaving tnalak is a tedious process. The T'boli are famous for their dream-inspired and spirit infused T'nalak weavings but also for their embroidery brass casting and other crafts.T'nalak weaving is an artform perfected over decades of practice by T'boli women and only a handful of master weavers can be considered true 'dream weavers' the works of whom are highly valued.

No Filipino can hide the 300 years under the Spanish rule. Their culture has been embedded in our daily life from the term "pan" we use to call our bread to even our family names. They have changed our lives but what is important is to know this part of history gain a deeper understanding and look at who we were before they came. If you hike up Fushimi Inari do not miss to stop here! You get a bird's eye view of Kyoto. It takes a while to reach here though. I rushed up with excitement but I did not make it to the last temple because the sun was already setting and my mother and sister was waiting. I was a bit disappointed to not reach the last temple. I was just 3 stops away but I later found out that the temple at the end was not as impressive as the first one you see. I guess I can still call it a win.

It was my first time to meetup with people I have hosted in their own place! I hosted Mariya and Manaya when Mariya was just 3 months pregnant and boy does time fly fast. Such a lovely people whom I have had long talks with about all sorts of stuff relating to life. They also host people visiting Kyoto but they might have to stop with the baby on the way. Going for more tech diving this 2020! My 2019 ended with a wreck and cavern dive in Sipalay. Back in 2013 I learned tech skills as an open water diver because my instructor was one of the pioneers of TDI in Philippines. As a representative of the country he wanted to make sure I had the skills to do low-impact SCUBA diving. When you travel make sure to buy straight from the local artisans not only are you supporting the economy you are helping them with their craft as well. I got the smaller one for 20000 IDR! This was one of the most delicious discovery while I was trekking along the Meratus Mountains. There are tons of Macadamia trees which the locals also refer to as German trees. As a big nut fan I was a kid in a candy store.

It is not just food at the floating market! these beautiful beaded purse was a steal. I bought the smaller one for 5000 IDR and found it being sold for 30 RM in one of the malls at Kota Kinabalu! I somehow regret not buying more of those beaded purses though it would be a good alternative for gifts instead of the usual keychains or shirts. I also loved the colourful patterns on the taqiya (skullcap) I wanted to buy it but had no reason to wear it and it would also be inappropriate.

Dying for a cup of coffee? Well breakfast is never a problem when on a floating market. You'd be amazed with the variety of food the locals sell. However be reminded that it is not a place for those that do not possess an Asian stomach.
