This piece is a commentary on the reliance on medication to regulate our emotions and health. In many ways, these are miracle drugs and I am truely an advocate of medication in specific circumstances. However, each drug has a consequence and even if the consequence is that we live in a health frenzied society where ill health is seen as the worst possible outcome, that is a negative outcome in itself. I went for an early run in the pouring rain today. It was very quiet in the park. Up at the top of the hill, I saw a seated figure with a very large green and white gold umbrella sitting alone in the rain. It was a fantastic contrast. I didn't have my camera so I took a mental picture as I ran towards him and painted it as soon as I got home. I went for an early run in the pouring rain today. It was very quiet in the park. Up at the top of the hill, I saw a seated figure with a very large green and white gold umbrella sitting alone in the rain. It was a fantastic contrast.
