I removed the lining from all the drawers and have the whole box a rustic look by painting it with a color wash made from Missouri Limestone Paint Company’s chalk style paint “Coal Shovel”. I learned to do the buffalo plaid from this excellent photo tutorial by Surrey Lane Home. I used red for my base color.
