Wedding favors for my beach/nautical themed wedding. I created Christmas ornaments to give my guests. I quilled "waves" using leftover wedding invites, and created a canvas sail that has our wedding date stamped on it. I chose to leave our names off of the favor because I didn't want it to be obvious that this was a wedding favor. (although in this one you can see part of the grooms first name as the base of the sailboat since it was recycled paper invites). "Socks on the Beach" - This sign was created to adorn our signature drink at the wedding. The cocktail, originally "Sex on the Beach" was cascading from a fountain for our guest to enjoy. We wanted a fun but obvious way of telling grown-ups what was in the fountain, without giving the 12 year olds something to snicker about by seeing the word "sex" at the reception. :) Our guests got a great laugh out of this! The wedding facility suggested that I make tent cards for the food so that people would know what was being served. I opted for one sign, which sat on an easel at the beginning of the buffet. This sign, printed on canvas from my at home printer and trimmed with leftover seashells/crushed shells was a great way to tie in the crushed shells on the tables (sprinkled like confetti) and the beach/nautical theme. Not as easy to see (sorry, distracting background) but I used this natural seagrass basket and some simple die cut letters as our card basket. Behind it were some centerpieces that I was working on (later the one to the left was omitted because I decided I didn't like it. The basket had ribbons tied in bows and seashells glued to the ends. After the wedding I simply removed the ribbon and the word "cards" so that I could reuse the basket. I paid about $14 for the basket. My wedding had a beach/nautical theme, so for the table numbers I used a printable canvas paper and cut them out in squares. I printed two of each table number (so each side said "table 10" and then I trimmed it with crushed shells. a natural brown floral wire was glued between the two sides. I was careful to try to cut each side exactly the same size so they wouldn't overlap. I trimmed any parts I missed! These sat in the centerpieces but weren't overly distracting from the design.

Another view of my wedding flowers. Again, I couldn't stomach the thought of my October wedding having dark fall colors, so I opted for what I really wanted and have no regrets! Wedding Flowers, Bridesmaid Dresses, Wedding Dress, October Wedding, Our Wedding, Fall Colors

I created this flower girl basket for just pennies. I purchased a really cheap light colored basket at a craft store for about $3. Then, I added some cream colored organza ribbon trimming the rim. I put a layer of crushed shells around the top and added a starfish and ribbon in our wedding color. I created this from using leftover wedding elements so really the only thing I had to buy to complete this project was the basket! Can't beat a $3 custom flower girl basket! <3 Crafts, Wedding Colours, Custom Flower Girl Basket, Flower Girl Basket, Ribbon Trim, Flower Girl, Wedding Colors

Worth sharing - My wedding flowers. I wanted a variety of texture. Flowers used were tropicals (don't remember the name of them), Thistle, succulents, roses and even some white hydrangea. The vibrant colors weren't the typical "fall like" arrangements - but then again, I'm not exactly known for typical. I craved bright fun colors for our gorgeous October day. To heck with brown, orange and burgundy! Wines, Roses, Pink, Texture, White Hydrangea, Rose

I just had to add another view of our wedding cake. Coral made from white chocolate, and white chocolate curls create a seashell looking texture. The best tasting cake I've ever had. The only leftover pieces got gobbled up the day after the wedding! Made by Charles Street Bakery, La Plata, MD. Cake, Desserts, Design, Kisses, Inspiration, Wedding Cakes

Our wedding cake. This was the most gorgeous, delicious cake I think I've ever tasted. It had crushed chocolate curls on layers 1 and 3 to emulate seashells. I didn't want too many molded seashells on the cake because I didn't want it to be too cheesy. The bakery created a coral affect by using white chocolate. This was a sign we created for my niece to be the signbearer after we were married. The two roses were used as a way to encorporate the mothers into the ceremony. We gave each other a rose and then presented it to our new mother-in-laws. Our moms loved it. The sign uses the same crushed shell border and canvas. Most of the signage I created for my wedding involved canvas (to go with the beach/nautical theme) and gluing the crushed shells around the border. I wanted this sign at the ceremony site because I wanted to be sure that both sides of the aisle were even! Behind it were small arrangements created to decorate and line the aisle. Little silver buckets were lining the aisle, filled with bright jewel toned flowers and a starfish to ground the beach/nautical theme. The ground next to the chair were sprinkled with bright coral/yellow rose petals. Yellow Roses, Floral, Jewel Tone Wedding, Wedding Aisle

Centerpieces for my beach/nautical themed wedding. Each hurricane globe had a candle with a cream colored pillar candle trimmed with blue ribbon and crushed shells. A starfish is added, along with crushed shells and votives surrounding it. The napkin rings (I'll pin separate) are burlap strips with a seashell affixed to it. Driftwood table assignments. I whitewashed pieces of driftwood that I collected. I had 13 (one for each table). I added mini wooden clothespins to them and printed each guests' name on canvas paper. To make the table numbers stand out, I inked the corners of the table # with my wedding color. Table Numbers, Table Number Stands, Driftwood Table, Table, Wooden Clothespins, Wooden, Driftwood, Paper

Christmas Ornament favors from my wedding. I shredded what was left of my invitations to create a cushion for them. I decided to put individual names on them since each couple received one of each design.
