My soap this month is inspired by Tomato Leaf FO from the Flaming Candle and this view of my massive cherry tomato plants. I did brown ombre layers to represent the dirt with two colors of green in the drop swirls for the leaves and green tomatoes. I did just a couple drops of red throughout the drop swirls for the red tomatoes peeking through. My first attempt went ok. I used Tomato Leaf FO from the Flaming Candle. For this attempt, I divided my oils and lye into two parts for the layers and drop swirl. I mixed to trace between layers. This ended up not being the way to go as my layers were too hard to drop into and I had lots of tiny bubbles. Even with all the mixing, my white mica didn't mix in all the way! I also overdid the mica and the colors are very bright. Gift Wrapping, Candles, Oils, Candle, Flaming Candle, Drop, Mica, Tomato, Hard

For attempt 2 I tried to add an accelerating fragrance to the first 3 layers instead of separating. This worked much better even with an FO that barely accelerated (Fig Tree from Flaming Candle). The drops still have the Tomato Leaf FO in them. I love how this attempt turned out. The colors are more realistic. The top of the layers was a bit crunchy and I have some bubbles in the drop swirls but I'm still happy with it. I have learned to pour more next time if I want some larger drops. Winter, Vibrance, Turn Ons, Fire, Fig Tree

I think the white looking spots are bubbles rather than mica. There was no white mica used in the drops. Colors are all from Nurture Soap: Mocha Brown, Winter White, Enchantment, Green Vibrance, and Trial by Fire.

Attempt 2 Tops
More soda ash but still cute!
I ended up liking the tops of the first attempt better. They had less soda ash and the brighter green makes the red tomatoes really pop. Tops, Bright Green, Green

I thought soap dough tomatoes would be a good first try at soap dough and a way to put a touch of detail into my design. Thanks to Sorcery Soap for the free recipe! I placed them on top to stick with the beginner requirements. Recipes, Design, Foods, Dough, Food, Free Food, Recipe
