Apatheia
In Stoic philosophy, apatheia (Greek: ἀπάθεια; from a- 'without', and pathos 'suffering, passion') refers to a state of mind in which one is not disturbed by the passions. There is a difference between Apatheia - without emotion/feeling (sometimes without suffering) which is often alternatively interpretted to mean: without 'passion' - passion used here to refer to those negative emotions that one might try to avoid e.g. fear or anger and the term Ataraxia - which implies one without disturbance, without troubled mind. Also tranquility, equanimity, serenity, imperturbability.
