Pronunciation and spelling of /ʒn/
Because of the presence of 'i' in the spelling of -sion words, students often pronounce them wrongly. All -sion words are pronounced /ʒn/, and the stress comes on the syllable before '-sion'. If you're a Spanish speaker you might pronounce a word like 'vision' with a sound like 'mission' (the unvoiced /ʃ/ instead of the voiced /ʒ/. And if you're Chinese, you may replace /ʒ/ with /r/ for example you might say 'urually' instead of 'usually'.
