Exercise to improve pen and ink skills | line drawing | how to practice drawing

Write drawing prompts on pieces of paper that represent textures, like "wood" or "fur". Put them in a jar or box. Pick a random texture from the jar; set a timer for three to five minutes, and; draw and shade your texture from light to dark. The timer adds pressure.
