This was inspired by two sources www.north45.ca where I found out about Sugru and gluing magnets to ski goggles + Anon MFI masks and goggles which used more…

New Anon MFI neck-warmer mask

MFI Keeper
Using these to best match under and around my goggle nosepiece. In my case it ended up being the black Keeper. This contains the magnets that go in the mask and needs to line up with the magnets installed on the goggles.

1/4” Neodymium magnet used to make my Salomon goggles MFI compatible. Bought at Michaels but not easy to find there.

Unopened Sugru Mouldable Glue
Once opened you have 30 min to work with it. Gloves are recommended, especially if you have sensitive skin. I went with black but it does come in different colours or at least black or white from Canadian Tire.

Sugru Mouldable Glue
30 min to work with: Again rubber gloves help, it will stain your fingers but is fairly easy to wash off. Tear off the piece you need, roll and knead it for about 30 seconds and then secure it to the surface your working on. Once set it takes about 24 hours to cure. I used the original formula: Temperature resistant -50°c to 180°c (-58°F to 356°F). Waterproof. Holds up to 4lbs.

Extreme Cold Weather Fog-Free Magnetic Face Masks & Balaclavas|North45
This site introduced me to Sugru and partly inspired the MFI mask hack. I went with the MFI mask because it used more magnets but these are still an option, especially if you prefer merino wool.

First Application of Sugru to Snow Goggles
Mouldable glue placed in the approximate location the central magnets will go, near the bottom of the nosepiece. Keep them on the rubber, you don’t want to block the vents. You could probably drill into the frame and glue the magnets more flush but I felt safer just surface mounting the magnets.

Marking Goggles for Magnets
White coloured pencil works. Used the MFI keeper to mark the approximate location of the magnets to be glued onto my mask.

MFI Goggle Hack
.25” #neodymium_magnets being positioned on bottom frame of snow goggles. If Using magnetic MFI keeper to line them up you will end up positioning the magnets multiple times 😣 but you could probably bend a strip of wire to match the MFI keeper with tape at the points where the magnets would go.

MFI Goggle Hack Continued
A little more #Sugru around the #neodymium_magnets . Thickest application was beneath and around the magnets. After this I removed the goggle lens (which should have been done at the start). Finished lining up the magnets and then set the goggle frame aside to cure for 24 hours.

Nose piece is facing inwards. Red stitching helps to centre nosepiece in Anon MFI mask. Take the keeper out when washing the mask.
