I miss you, Mama. You left our lives far too soon. There was so much you missed, and there is so much we missed by your not being here. Here's a few ways, but it just scratches the surface. I Miss You, You Left, Too Soon, I Missed, Left, Mom, Miss You, Our Life, Miss

I miss your lack of procrastination. You were the original "get'er done" girl. You taught us that way, too. I remember being very young and having to lay my clothes out the night before. I believe it taught us to be quick decision makers, but I would never let you know that I was even contemplating doing something. Before I knew it, you were pushing me along long before I was even sure I wanted to do it. Statue, Let It Be, Remember, Something To Do, Girl, Believe

I miss your "get'er done" spirit. I would never let you know when something went wrong at school. My biggest fear was that you would come up there and try to fix it. Biggest Fears, School, Fear, Wrong, Spirit

I miss your toughness. One time I sent one of my little girls to get a cup of sugar from you, when you lived next door; and you sent her back with a dollar and said to go buy it myself. And you had sugar in your house. You were an enigma, but there was never any doubt that you loved all of us fiercely. Years later, I figured out where my toughness came from. Most would think that sort of thing would have come from their dad, but I knew better. It has been something that has served me well when needed in my career. Dads, Mother, One Time, My Little Girl

So if dad was Monticello and Georgia, and old-timey folks, John Wayne and Loretta Lynn, hard work and a small town man who built a house with his own two hands; then mom you were Elizabeth Taylor, choir music, Perry Como, piano and dance lessons, orange groves, beaches and anything new and different. Looking back, dad was Andy Griffith married to a woman who was a lot like Florida, restless and edgy. Florida, Pin Up, Vintage, Dance, Jackson County, John Wayne, County, Andy Griffith, Perry Como

I miss how you always put us before yourself. You always made sure that our needs were met before your own. I remember this was especially the case at Easter. We always had matching hats, purses, and gloves. Couple Photos, We Need, Scenes, Photo, Met

I miss your hissy fits. We used to get so tickled, but we could never let you know it. One time Linda said that she and Daddy were sitting at a picnic table by the camper, and that you were having a fight with an electric can opener. All of a sudden the camper door flew open and the can opener flew out the door, along with a few choice words. Linda and Daddy got tickled and daddy said come on Linda let's get out of here before we get in trouble Camper, Electric, Can Opener, Electric Can Opener, Getting Out, Tickled, Open

I miss the man you chose for a mate. The day you caught Geechie Roe's eye, that day on the 8th grade playground, was a very fortunate day for all three of your daughters. What a wonderful man you chose to be the father of your children. Brides, Wedding, Daughters, Father, Daughter, The Man, Man

I miss your giving spirit. Your generosity was complex. It didn't necessarily extend to letting us borrow things. You believed the old adage, neither a lender or borrower be" but when you saw a person in need, you came to the rescue. Linda remembered shopping each August for kids who came to school without new school clothes for the beginning of the school year. You made sure they had some by the next school day. None of the rest of us knew that you did that. You weren't one to toot your own horn Horn, Lender, The Rest Of Us, All The Way Down, Old Adage, The Borrowers, Old Things, Olds

I miss your casual cursing. You did all kinds of little things that your parents never did. You smoked but when i was little you were always trying to hide it from grandma. And you cursed, especially when frustrated. Never did you say the "F" word or use the Lord's name in vain., though. I can remember only "sh@&", hell, damn and ass; but you spread them around liberally. Parents, Casual, Lord, Damn, Parenting, Ass

I miss your Johnellisms. You had so many sayings, so many quotes. Some were absolutely disgusting., like the one about piling your wishes in one hand and...Oh never mind. The grandchildren may get ideas. Or the one about frogs bumping their butts, but you never said "butt", now did you. Every once in a while we girls get to reminiscing and all these quotes just pop in our heads. Sayings, Ideas, Pop, Absolutely Disgusting, You Never, Disgust, Reminiscing

I miss that you didn't get to see your last two granddaughters grow up. They were so young, and your illness kept them from really getting to know their grandmother. Now they are teenagers, and you would be so proud. They got your looks. Bikinis, Teenagers, Grandmother, Granddaughter, Granddaughters, Growing Up
