My joy. My only. Do you have, do you have something? Ava. Think so. This side of, this like, this area is kind of dry. You have one yourself. Do you have one yourself? Oh, no. Y'all don't? I got one right here. Um just like getting beat up and stuff like that by your parents and. So you said abuse like physical abuse? Yeah, that's that's a trauma. That's most definitely traumatic. Go ahead, David. Go ahead. What you got here? Childhood trauma? Drugs and violence. Drugs of violence. Ooh. I just feel like that's a good one. That's a good one. Alright. So, does anybody else have one? David, what's up with you? Verbal abuse Alright, we got one over here. Uh PTSD. Sexual abuse. Hold up. What is PTSD? Go back over there. What's PTSD? Post-traumatic stress disorder. Okay, so what happens if you're doing PTSD or you're dealing with PTSD, what what does that mean? Like, what what do you have to deal with? That means like, whatever happened, like, if something really bad happened to you, you kind of have like. Like, you struggle like flashbacks, you struggle with that, stuff like that. Okay, can I get a everybody to stand up if you've ever dealt with any type of trauma. If you've ever dealt with any type of trauma, stand up. Okay, it's a it's a few of y'all that needed to be here tonight. Wow. So, this going to be a good message. So, we about to learn about some healing, how to fix that. No, that's right. Okay, sit down. Alright. If you've done anything to help your trauma, stand up. To help your trauma. Other than suppress it, other than suppress it. Other than suppress it. Okay. Cool, cool, cool. Alright, sit down. Um some people say they've gone through trauma. Um saying that they rely on their family more than they friends which I think is pretty good. We rely on our family. So, yeah. Okay. You have friends, some all of us like to sometimes be by ourselves. Some of us go to god and right now, we're going to get a great series that is going to show us how to utilize god, our community, therapy, all of those things. Please don't be mad. Yeah. It's one of my favorite movies But how many of us find ourselves like joy that we find ourselves so busy trying to avoid sadness? That we suppress everything that we feel. That we suppress every traumatic experience in our lives because we just want to be happy but what you have to understand is that happiness does not always lead to healing I thought I was going to get a little more claps on that one. That was a bar a little bit. Happiness does not always lead to healing And then you see in the movie, sometimes you need to embrace your emotions. So that way you can properly express your emotions. So, I want to take you through a healing journey today. Turn to a person say, you about to go on a healing journey. Come on, y'all gotta say it. Come on, say it like you like you did it last week. Say, you about to go on a healing journey. And I want to preach to you from a message called healing starts here Healing starts here. Cuz what you have to understand is, you have to express your emotions because if you don't express, you will suppress yourself and you will eventually become depressed A lot of depression starts from unaddressed issues A lot of times, we allow the enemy to deceive us and distract us into this false narrative of strength. That we think strong means that we have to hold it all together. We think strength means that we are not crying or we're not telling somebody what's going on. But that's not strength. It takes strengths to be vulnerable. And there's a lot of god people in this room that you are holding in how you feel in the name of strength But really it's fear. You have to express yourself But you have to express in the proper place. Now, y'all know I always gotta demonstration Y'all see what this is, right? What is this? Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola. Anybody drink Coca Cola? Y'all like Coca Cola? That's just nasty. That's just this. Coca-Cola. We already know Sprite is the best soda. Sprite is the best soda. But a lot of us Listen up. A lot of us, we're like this Coca Cola can. And you've been traumatized You've been abused. Shaken up by the things in life You've been bullied. You've been talked about. And you hold it all in Can I, can I, can I get a, can I get a Who would like to open this for me? Who would like to just Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, y'all better. Have a seat. I didn't even call y'all up. Oh my goodness. Let me get a leader. Let me get a leader. Okay. Okay. Okay. I can't let y'all gotta rock, paper, scissors. How you want? Come on. Now, you gotta stand over here. Now, don't let it hit the floor. That's what we got here for. Stand right here. Take this. Now, listen up. Listen up. Shh You see what happens when you don't properly express and you let things to shake up in your life without talking nobody and you don't express at the proper place. When you don't properly express, you will eventually explode. That didn't explode. See what you did? Y'all get the point. Now, if I would put, what would happen if I put this in there? I can't do that. I'm not going to do that. I ain't going to do that That's how we look. We don't properly express in a proper place. And this is what some of you look like right now. You're overwhelmed. You have too much weighing you down in your life rejection abuse and you have to understand that you're a limited capacity that you can't carry all of this on your own You can't carry. You don't have the capacity to carry these things. So, what you have to do, you have to go to the source that does have the capacity. I said, I ain't going to get no amens tonight but that's cool Thank you. So, what happens is you gotta take things to god in prayer Philippians four verse six says, can we go to that scripture real quick? It says, don't worry about anything Instead, do what? Pray about what? Praying. How many things? How many things? A little bit of things. A little bit of things. Some things. Pray about everything. And do what? Do what? Tell god what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then, you will what? You would do what again? Which exceeds anything we can understand That's a word right there. It says, his peace will do what? And do what else? Come on, that's a good word. Give god some praise for the word of god. But he says, pray about everything and the blessing about prayer because here's the thing, just because you're overwhelmed, just because you're traumatized, it doesn't stop life from bringing more stuff into your bowl. Life doesn't stop just because you're overwhelmed. But here's the thing When you pray about it, even when life gets a little shaky. They got scary a little bit. Come on, Donovan. This going to explode. Y'all think this one going to actually explode? I gotta shake it. Okay, you want to shake it? I open it now. Whoo. But y'all see the blessing in that? Because even when you explode, your prayer life is there to catch everything that comes out of you. Because when you pray, god covers you. You have to understand that your prayer life is the proper place to pour. But the issue is when we go through things, we don't turn to god first. Sometimes, we talk to our friends We pour into our friends and they give you the wrong advice. Girl, you should hit them back. You ain't gotta take that. You ain't gotta deal with that. You need to get your revenge. Anybody ever had some friends like that that gave you the wrong advice? That told you how to improperly handle trauma and pain, emotional trauma in your life. But god is the proper place to pour and the blessing about god is that you don't have to wait til you explode the poor. Thank you for a couple of those claps. No matter how much you're dealing with, you can keep pouring. Okay now. I put a lot in there, right? And you could just continue to pour Here's the blessing. Prayer We have to understand that healing starts here. Healing starts with prayer But healing doesn't end in prayer. See, they ain't catch that part. Healing starts with prayer. Right. But healing doesn't end in prayer. There's some other things you gotta do in your life. So, what happens is, you go to prayer and now god provides therapy. Because a lot of churches, they'll tell you just pray about it and everything will be okay. Have you ever told somebody who was going in your life and they just told you to pray it away? Have anybody ever been there with somebody just the only advice they gave you was I'm praying for you. No, you don't need to just pray about it. You need to talk to somebody. You need somebody that's going to help you recover from the mental and emotional wounds that you've experienced from the trauma in your life. So, you prayed about it and god is taking on the trauma in your life. If you give it to god in prayer and now, you've taken it to therapy. Y'all see what god does with our pain? And we go from prayer to therapy and we're talking about it. We're talking to our therapists. We're meeting with them regularly. They're giving us tools and wisdom. But it doesn't stop there. You need the right community in your life. You need the right community in your life. Because here's the thing, a lot of us, we have the wisdom on what we should do, but we don't have the discipline to carry out what we know to do. And here's the thing, you can't just put trust in yourself alone to do what you're supposed to do. You need the right community and accountability that's going to keep you on track. Cuz how many I know sometimes you're not going to always feel like going through this healing process. So you need the right friends in your life. That's going to make sure that you're doing what the therapist is telling you to do. See they got quiet on that part. We don't like to talk about accountability. Who who are you accountable to in your life? Yourself, that is not a good answer. Alright. You shouldn't be just accountable to yourself. You need the right community that's going to help you stay on track. Cuz you're going to eventually get tired of doing it on your own. You're not going to always feel like staying on the healing process. You're not going to always feel like going through this process of healing. But here's the blessing look how far you have came from when you first started out from prayer to where you are now. Look how far away your trauma is from where you were when you first prayed about it. You see the distance I'm telling you now, when you go to the healing process properly, you're not going to look like what you've been through. See, I see only got two claps on that part but I only talking to some people that's actually been through some healing in their life. That's actually with us the healing process and seeing god turn their life all the way around. And after you take it through prayer therapy, a community your trauma now becomes your testimony. And now it goes and it turns into power. Isn't it a blessing that we serve a god that could turn your pain into power? That now that god has healed you, you're now able to heal other people that's going through what you're going through because here's the thing, your healing is not just for you. How many of y'all know that? Your healing is not just for you God is healing you so you can learn the blueprint to overcome what you're dealing with right now. And there's somebody right now that's waiting for you to heal so they can heal. My question is, who are you holding up? Who will never experience healing because you won't allow yourself to heal? You can't keep your pain to yourself. You can't keep your trauma to yourself. You can't carry it all on your own. But you have to make sure that your pain gets in the right hands. Because your pain in the wrong hands goes from a wound and it turns into a weapon. When your pain goes unaddressed, you become dangerous to everybody that you become in, you get into a relationship with. And a lot of trauma that people experience, sometimes it's because they were in relationship with us Who right now is dealing with trauma because they dated the unhealed version of you. Who right now is dealing with trauma? Because they were friends with the unhealed version of you. We got students in there raising their hand. I like this church. Y'all real transparent up in here. People that bully other people Y'all know bully people that bully bullies are not healed people. Bullies are not confident people. Bullies are people that are insecure They lack confidence. And at some point in their life, they will bully themselves. At some point in life, that there was somebody that inflicted the same pain that they inflicted on other people. And what you don't want to happen is that your pain goes unaddressed and your wounds become a weapon for the enemy to use them. Because hurt people hurt people That's why we gotta take it to god in prayer. It's important to know where healing starts because a lot of us, we know we need healing but we don't know how to begin. We don't know where to get it from. Here's one of the most important things. You have to understand that healing is a journey. And a lot of you in this room you're not patient enough with yourself to fully heal. Some of you, you don't give yourself the proper time to heal. As soon as you hurt, your your natural response is, I gotta get back on my feet. I gotta show they ain't hurt me. As soon as you break up with somebody, you in another relationship. Are you trying to act like you got ribs but really you hurt? I'm the risk master. What is a risk master? Like they trying to I got riz. I could just I could just leave them and move on. That's not risk, that's pain. You're hurting. You jump from relationship to relationship. And the root of that, you're really just trying to numb yourself of a deeper pain that you've experienced early on your childhood. You've experienced so many so much abandonment in your childhood that now you have numbed yourself to disconnect from people. So now, every time a relationship doesn't work out, You just numb yourself and you tell yourself, I don't care. You know, a lot of young people they like to have this I don't care attitude in life Anybody knows somebody that just has a I don't care attitude and school they nonchalant Like people, you know what I'm saying? I know this dude in my school. his name, his name was Dante and his Instagram name was nonchalante. Say, nonchalante. Nonchalant underscore Tay. I'm like, bro, why is that your Instagram name, man? I'm not, man. I'm nonchalant, man. I don't even care, bro. I don't care. I'm nonchalant. When did being nonchalant become cool? When did being an I don't care person become something that was popular but you're trying to numb yourself. You're trying to numb the pain. And I can speak from experience that I didn't always feel comfortable telling somebody my pain and my vulnerabilities. You know, when I was growing up, if I used to act like I was hurt about a girl, my boys would clown me. Man, you really heard of her, dawg? Like, for real, she got you like that, bro. She got you like that. She had me listen to Drake and everything. Oh, why y'all laughing? Why y'all laughing? Like, why y'all? Drake got me through some pain. I'm just trying to sell y'all. Y'all going to act like y'all ain't listen to Drake when y'all was hurt. None of y'all. Y'all just oh y'all listen to Raw Wave. Raw Wave is the new Y'all hear them? A lot of us We rather listen to music that matches our pain They listen to music that heals our pain. We love to listen to sad music when we sang. Because it's feeding something. Like That ain't right. Don't ask me to sing. Don't ask me to say. We do things to cope and cater to our feelings than we do. Things that's going to correct how we feel. A lot of us, we need emotional correction You need emotional healing Sometimes, you gotta you gotta submit to the healing process. A couple years ago, I broke my finger playing basketball. Whoever said that thousand points from their tribe right now. I never got crossed. That was Isaac. Isa, you get a thousand points deducted from yourself. You know, I'm going to go But a couple years ago, a couple years ago, I I broke my finger. Yeah. And the doctor gave me instructions. They said, listen, do not play ball for this amount of months. Don't go work out. Don't lift no weights. Don't try ball your fist up. Don't do none of that. And do not take your cast off. That was the number one rule. Do not take the cast and the splint that I had on my finger all. And which I think I did. I took it all. For the rest of my life, I can never fully bend this finger simply because I did not listen to what the doctor told me to do. Simply because I didn't submit to the healing process I took my cast off too soon and had permanent damage Healing takes time. And I will hate for you to deal with permanent emotional damage. Simply because you didn't want to submit to the healing process in your life. God wants to heal you. And god will give you provision for healing. He will send you the right people in your life to help walk you through this healing process. But you gotta submit to it and you gotta commit to it. Anybody ready to be healed? Anybody ready to be committed and submitted to healing? God wants to restore you. God wants to heal you. But you have to be open Let's go to first Peter verse five. You give me some spiritual, Keith. First Peter, what does it say? Y'all say I'm real mumbled. Says cast all your anxiety on him because what? Because what? A lot of the hesitation in our lives when it comes to our healing process is a lack of trust. But first Peter five wants you to know that you can cast your cares on the lord simply because he cares for you How many y'all believe that? So, you should have at each of your rows. You should have a marker and an index card. It should be at the end of each row I want you to pass it down your row and I want you to write I want you to write on that card the trauma in your life that you want god to heal Did y'all get the instructions? I want you to write on it. I want you to write what you want god to heal in your life. And when you're done, be silent. I want y'all to be silent and reflect and if you're ready I want you to, after you're done right, I want you to come down When you are ready, I want you to come down, drop your trauma and give it to god. I want you to worry about the person next to you I don't want you to worry about who's watching you. I want you to come right now. after you're done. And bring your pain to Jesus may I give him a hand. Give him a hand. Good job. I'm so proud of y'all You can you can take it back. Did I miss anybody? Anybody still writing? I see your hand. Shh I want you to be mindful that this is just a symbolism This just symbolizes what's really about to take place in your life. That when you give it to god, this is what healing starts It starts here. A lot of people get frustrated because they pray about it and it doesn't immediately go away. But this is where it starts. Doesn't mean everything going to be okay tomorrow. Doesn't mean everything's going to be okay next week. But when you continually give it to God and lay it at the altar, it starts here. May god continues to order your steps. With who you should talk to, who you should go to therapy with, who should be in my community? See, don't be, don't be shocked when you give your trauma to god. In the wrong crowd starts being eliminated out of your life. Don't be shocked when you start losing friends when you start praying. Because god removes everything in your life that contributes to the trauma It's not that people are leaving you or rejecting you. God is removing them. He's removing anything out of your life that will hinder your healing. When you pray about some things, god might start removing some things. He might start taking some things away but anything that god removes is for your benefit. Anything that god removes is for your healing. So, I want you all to understand what's happening in this moment. That you're going to start see some things. You're going to start to see some things shift in your life. Because you gave it to god Let's pray. Father god, in the name of Jesus, we thank you. We thank you for being all powerful God, we thank you that your words is by your stripes, we are healed. We believe that healing is not just physically but we we know you have the power to heal us mentally, to heal us spiritually God, I just bring every traumatic experience before your phone right now, god. And we pray for restoration god. Surround them around the right people, god. That's going to carry them when they can't carry themselves, god. That's going to lift them up, god when they can't hold themselves up, god. That's going to pray for them even when they don't feel like praying god. God, we pray for divine connections that's going to contribute to healing in their life. God we come against any wounds, any hidden wounds deep down, god that they have numbed and we bring it before your throne right now, lord god. God, we pray for strength to be vinyl. We pray for strength to open up but we also pray for wisdom with who we should open up to. Give us the wisdom, god. Give us revelation. God, we pray for supernatural healing in this moment We thank you that healing starts here tonight. We thank you that healing is initiated here tonight god. and we're trusting in you god with our problems. We're trusting you with our pain god. We thank you in advance for the healing in this room. God, we pray that your spirit will meet them where they are, god. We come against the spirit of suicide right now in the name of Jesus. We come against the spirit of rejection, the spirit of anxiety, the spirit of depression. The spirit of comparison We come against any unauthorized voice in their minds. We speak peace in their minds right now. It's peace in their atmosphere and their presence. God, we thank you and we love you and we honor you, Jesus. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. Give god some praise right where you are. As you remain standing, as you remain standing There's no greater way to start your healing than accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. One of the things that I love is that Jesus wants all of you Jesus doesn't want the perfect version of you. Jesus is not asking for the healed version of you. He's asking for the version of you, the one that you are right now. God wants you just the way you are. He's not waiting for you to get yourself together. He's not waiting for you to heal. He's not waiting for you to overcome that addiction, that struggle. Jesus wants all of you. The brokenness. The trauma. The pain. The intrusive thoughts. Jesus is not intimidated by your sin and your mistakes. He wants all of you. All of your sinful desires. God wants all of you Some of you right now, you're wrestling because you think you're not good enough You think you can't live a Christian lifestyle Jesus still wants you. So, god is calling for you to make a bold decision today If there's anybody in this room right now, if you've never accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you've never confessed that he is your lord and savior, Jesus Christ out of your mouth. I want you to come down right now. Don't worry about who's watching you. Don't worry about who's around you. I want you to look at the person next to you and say, are you saved? Do you need to come down here? Are you saved? Do you want me to walk with you? Cuz we have leaders we have students here who will walk you down this aisle. Who will walk with you if you want to make this bold decision. Because what I don't want to happen I don't want anybody to die before their time. I don't want anybody to lose their life without accepting Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. Come on, hold my weight up. Woman wey men Come on y'all. Give god some praise for this young lady. You know god is talking to you. You know god is tugging on your heart. You know God is telling you to come up. One of the worst decisions you can ever make is to ignore Jesus. Who am I waiting on? Had no idea I was going to be a youth pastor but when I really surrendered to Jesus, everything in my life changed. I'm not just saying that just because I'm supposed to say it, I'm saying it because I experienced it. I don't know what any of you are going through personally but I know you all have been through something. But god cares about you and I want to dismantle every lie that nobody cares because god does Let me tell y'all something. Never let anybody minimize your pain because of your age. Just because you're young doesn't mean you haven't been through anything. The enemy be trying y'all. Anybody ever felt that? The enemy be trying it. But god loves you Y'all know that?
