My Irish ancestors likely originated from Ireland, went to Scotland in 400 AD, intermarried with Norse descendants (Gamble name), then went back to Ireland in 800 and 1600s AD. They became Presbyterian at some point and were "Ulster Scots". My DNA tests do not show Scottish or Englsih, but 14% Irish and more Scandanavian.
