Tom Waits on the corner of Westbourne Park Road and Portobello Road, by Michael Putland (michaelputland.com). I love this shot. The newspaper Tom is carrying reports the death of Swedish speedway 'ace' Tommy Jansson, which dates this picture to the day: 21 May 1976, According to Barney Hoskyn's book on him, Waits met Patti Smith in Portobello that day. To the best of my knowledge this shop at 295 Portobello Rd has always been pink - certainly it was in 1986, when this was taken ... and is still I think. 1980s, Pink, 1970s, 1990s

Honest Jon's record shop in 1984. I lived above the shop in the mid 80s. Jazz thumping through the floorboards. Glad to see the shop is still going strong although undergone a few facelifts in the intervening years. Jazz, Happiness, Vinyl Store, Shops, Store
