Tom Waits on the corner of Westbourne Park Road and Portobello Road, by Michael Putland (michaelputland.com). I love this shot. The newspaper Tom is carrying reports the death of Swedish speedway 'ace' Tommy Jansson, which dates this picture to the day: 21 May 1976, According to Barney Hoskyn's book on him, Waits met Patti Smith in Portobello that day. She had just that week played her first gig at the Roundhouse. John Lennon, Old London, London, Portobello Road, London Town, Notting Hill, European Tour, Toms, Road
