These Are Going to Be the Most Popular Halloween Costumes This Year

From Country Living

Every year it's the same story with Halloween. You carve pumpkins, eat gobs of candy and, most of all, you spend weeks agonizing over finding the perfect costume. Thankfully, Pinterest exists. While we already know that there will be plenty of Harley Quinns and Stranger Things characters running around this Halloween, here are the most popular costume ideas that people on Pinterest can't get enough of right now.

Food Costumes

Food costume searches on Pinterest are up 47% since last Halloween. Because, who doesn't love pizza?

And tacos.

And cereal.

Punny Costumes

People apparently are just as obsessed with puns as we are. In fact, punny costume searches are up 73% on Pinterest since last year. We can't stop laughing about this hilarious take on the song "Whip/Nae Nae."

People have pinned this "Can't Touch This" Cactus costume over 5,000 times.

Meet Taco Belle, Pinterest's favorite food pun mash-up.

We're kicking ourselves for not thinking of this hilariously clever Jon Snow White costume first.

Pop Culture Costumes

Halloween 2016 is all about of-the-moment references. Pop culture costume searches are up 75% this year on Pinterest. So save that throwback costume for another year (unless it's Luke from Gilmore Girls which is both old and new all at the same time).

With the election quickly approaching, it's no surprise that Trump and Hillary costumes are trending this year too.

Don't forget about Dog-ald Trump.

…or Howl-ary Clinton.

Pinterest search for David Bowie costumes are up nearly 250% as people pay tribute to the late musician.

But the most popular pop culture costumes this year are ones inspired by Snapchat filters, which are up nearly 1500%, as the social media platform continues to grow in popularity.

Kids Costumes

If your kids are a little younger than the Snapchat crowd, Pinterest has tons of ideas for them too. Pokemon Go-inspired costumes are super popular with younger children.

Parents can't stop pinning ideas to dress their babies up as tiny critters like baby ducks and porcupines.

Pinners also can't get enough of dressing up little kids as miniature cat ladies.

Character-inspired costumes, like Ratatouille, continue to be favorites.

This little Mandrake (remember those from Harry Potter?!) might be our favorite costume on this list.

Pet Costumes

People on Pinterest are also obsessed with dressing up their dogs, like this tiny little unicorn pup who has been repinned nearly 2,000 times.

Pinners are also fond of this Batman dog.

And they can't stop pinning this adorable Darth Vader. Um, Bark Vader?
